As a Senior Software Engineer at Thomson Reuters, you will collaborate with technical leaders, developers and managers to successfully develop web-based software solutions in a large multi-tier web application and supervise and mentor junior team members. Job duties: Plans, facilitates, and conducts requirements definition sessions, meetings, presentations, and interviews with internal and external stakeholders as needed to define and analyze complex business problems and products. Captures requirements, creates use cases, and prepares written functional specifications for subsequent feasibility analysis, technical design and implementation. Analyzes data and provides domain and technology expertise, research and recommendations to meet business and functional requirements as applicable to project or product need. Identifies gaps or inefficiencies between business market requirements and existing or proposed solutions and develops recommendations for improvement. Analyze and optimize business and technical processes. Prepares and delivers presentations and demos for product management and other stakeholders, as required. Collaborates with Product Management, User Experience and Technology teams on technology assessment and field research to elicit and interpret market requirements. Design details of automated systems. Create and analyze business process modelling to determine and demonstrate the as-is behavior and should-be state of recommended solutions. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.

JOB OPPORTUNITY QUALIFIES FOR EMPLOYEE INCENTIVE REFERRAL PROGRAM.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, MIS or related discipline followed by 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in business analyst or programmer related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, MIS or related discipline and 3 years of experience in business analyst or programmer related occupation. Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently: 3 years of experience analyzing business problems to be solved with automated systems; 3 years of experience in identifying and documenting business requirements and business processes; 3 years of experience developing functional requirements; 3 years of experience creating details of automated systems; 3 years of experience working with applications involving technical environment that uses .NET, SQL Server 2000/2005; 3 years of experience with functional automation scripts and defect triaging; 3 years of experience developing test plans and test cases to test business requirements; 2 years of experience with data analysis to evaluate identifiable factors related to business problems; 2 years of experience facilitating discussions related to: requirements gathering, solutions prototyping, help business team to develop process flows using the developed systems, clarifying business needs to development and testing teams
